Japanese-born Mao Shimizu grew up surrounded by flowers. Her grandfather started Shimizu Flowers in Japan, her father continued the business and now Mao has her own shop in Hastings, fulfilling her promise to her grandfather. Mao’s designs are rooted in Japan: simple, clean and original, using best quality flowers and foliage. Shimizu Flowers supplies arrangements for local businesses, hotels and restaurants.

You can choose an arrangement, or Mao will create an original for you. There will be a selection of Christmas wreaths, from the traditional to the unusual, including fresh and dried door wreaths, stunning shell wreaths, a chilli and red pepper wreath and hand tied bouquets. You can also order your wedding flowers here. In 2008, Mao sees the trend continuing for floral designs with vintage style dresses.
