Sue Perry's Imageworks

Freshen-up Your Wardrobe this Autumn!

Do you sometimes open your wardrobe and your heart sinks? Half your clothes don’t fit anymore, nothing goes together, it’s so boring and squashed together, there’s so much of it yet you have nothing to wear?

When an occasion comes along we panic-buy something else which then joins the sludgy, boring and squashed…

Sue Perry has been working with clients in the field  of personal presentation for 23 years. She knows the trick of wearing the right outfit is in having a small selection of the right clothes.

“It’s about taking a long, objective look at yourself, the external colouring, body shape and proportions. Then look at the person you truly are within, and the person you are going to be. We are all unique and individual, that’s what makes this job so interesting, and why I’ve been in it so long.”

At Imageworks, Sue works with clients of all ages and lifestyles - and that includes men too. It’s not always about how you look; more importantly it’s about how your clothes make you feel. A suitable outfit can inspire confidence, help you secure a new job, help you find a new relationship, gain respect and authority at work and beyond. The right clothes will make you feel good, and in turn, people will respond to you differently.

A consultation with Sue will actually save you time and money on shopping many times over. It’s too easy to buy the wrong thing, wear it once, feel uncomfortable, then it just hangs in your wardrobe haunting you.

There are times in life when change means our confidence is low. Perhaps you have been through a divorce, been ill, are newly single and looking forward to dating, going through the menopause or changing your career. How we look and the way we feel are so closely connected that if we adjust one, the other will follow.  So if you need a lift, why not let your wardrobe do the work and see how wearing the right clothes for you could really open doors and put your life back on the right track.

September/October is a brilliant time to do a wardrobe review. After putting away the ‘high summer’ garments you should be left with clothes that can be worn for the rest of the year. Think of interesting ways of combining pieces, layering or breaking up outfits. Put your jewellery and accessories where you can see them, and keep everything in immaculate condition, including shoes. Group clothes in colours as well as type, it leads to a more creative look, and if you haven't work it this year, you probably won’t, so think seriously about letting go. There is a brilliant second hand clothes shop in the High Street, in Hastings Old Town. Or swap with friends.

We all have far too many clothes, and waste so much money on them. Buy wisely using just a few simple rules and guidelines in colour, styling and image - it really makes life so much easier.

If it’s not beautiful, useful or good enough for you, get rid of it!
